Jewel Tone Gems

Jewel tones are the gems to add to your wardrobe. Autumn colors like plum, burgundy and berry are rich, regal and always complementary.  On a recent crisp Fall day, I wore this sweater and leather skirt  which I can also mix and match with other items from my wardrobe.  Jewel tones aren’t a trend, but colors that do stand the test of time so they make great investment pieces. And so the MBA in me not only thinks about the ROI (return on your investment) in cost per wear, but you will also have money to save or spend on other things in the future. And that’s royal.

Also, in case you didn’t know Intermix has a consign service where you can work with stylists to have store items shipped to you to try and anything that doesn’t work you ship back. Obviously you will be charged for the items you keep but it’s a great way to shop – especially for those that may not have time to stop by the store. My lovely friends at Intermix in Georgetown (hey Melissa and Becca!) helped me snag this skirt in my size and shipped it to me overnight before a trip. Hope you’re having a great week!
